The Pregnancy...

Tyse turned two months old yesterday. Two months! I can't believe how fast the time is flying by. I should have a whole blog full of cute posts on my little guy. Instead, I haven't  even written his birth story. Shame on me. To redeem myself, I deem this week my very own "Blogging Extravaganza Via Naptime Week."  Here's to playing catch up! Cheers...

.....

We found out we were pregnant the night before we flew out for our Ohio adventure. We were over the moon excited. Little T had taken his own sweet time making his appearance. I was getting frustrated thinking it would never happen. Instead, it happened right before our big Ohio adventure began. So...rather than our grand touristing experience, I spent most of my time laying on our super uncomfortable couch waiting for the waves of nausea to leave me the heck alone. I was sicker this pregnancy than I was with little Maycie. Yuck.

[18 weeks]

Because of our previous pregnancy, I was deemed high risk once again. And being away from our awesome doctor who knew my history made me nervous. That, and the fact that I did not love the doctors office I had in Ohio [really hated, actually] lead to the decision that I would come back to Idaho early while Jake finished his job in Ohio without me. [By the way, long distance marriages are not fun. NOT FUN!]

[20 weeks]

In December, right before Jake flew home for Christmas, I went in for the 20 week ultrasound. I should have been nervous given our history, but I was surprisingly calm. In fact, the whole pregnancy I felt very sure that our little baby would be healthy [this was definitely a blessing]. That day I learned that we were having a healthy baby BOY! I called Jake after the appointment and told him the news. Don't tell Tyson, but at first, we were both a little saddened that we weren't having another girl. But that went away quickly and were were ready to meet our little man.

[23 weeks]

Because of my previous c-section, we had to decide on a delivery option. Although I was nervous to try something different than I knew, we decided to have V-BAC [vaginal birth after cesarian]. So I spent the majority of my pregnancy researching and reading birth stories dealing with this. And when I say majority, I mean all day every day for 8 long months.

[32 weeks]

By the time I hit 37 weeks, I was beyond ready to be done. So I decided to take matters into my own hands. I bounced on a birthing ball for hours at a time, went on walks like crazy, and spent most of my day walking up and down my stairs trying to induce labor. And guess what? The baby wasn't even close to ready to make his appearance. Not even a little.

[35 weeks]

Two weeks before our due date, Little Man decided to send us a curve ball and flip transversely. Because of a few other circumstances, this meant we could no longer try for our V-BAC and would have to undergo a repeat c-section. My months of research flew out the window. But lucky for me, this meant we could deliver one week early... I was so so so ready to be done. We scheduled the surgery for May 6th, 2014.

[36 weeks]

During this pregnancy, I craved orange flavoring like crazy. I went through bags and bags of Orange Cuties and boxes of Fanta. Crock pot dinners made me absolutely SICK! Especially Roast and Potatoes [still can't stand the thought of it...or lasagna]. Jake craved it sooo bad while in Ohio and I would smell it for days. Makes me want to throw up just thinking about it. The grocery store made me super sick as well. All the different smells usually meant I would last about 10 minutes before I had to hand shopping list off to Jake and sit in the car.  My favorite meal was a burger from this little drive-in restaurant in Ohio called Swenson's and I would crave it daily [I only let myself get it about once a week so you know...not bad]. I definitely got bigger faster this pregnancy and by the end, I was HUGE compared to my first pregnancy [I guess I have to remember I was only carrying a 3 pounder by the end of my first go around].
